W e would like to extend a warm welcome to all new families joining us this year at Peachland, and we welcome back all returning students and families. We are off to a great start for the 2010-2011 school year, and we are looking forward to extending and enriching our Peachland community, where learning takes center stage and each child is successful.
Peachland Elementary parents and families play an essential role in achieving our mission. We hope to continue building our partnership with you as we strive to achieve this mission for every student at Peachland.
We believe that all students, while striving to be of good character, will achieve high levels of learning within the diverse, collaborative culture at Peachland.
Character counts at Peachland and we look forward to recognizing student achievement in Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship, Respect and Trustworthiness. Students and staff will be collecting dog tags each time they earn three character counts cards. Please encourage your child to make character count at home and at school.
There are many ways to get involved at Peachland. We encourage each of you to join the PTA, volunteer in a classroom, help us in the work room, volunteer for Friday Fitness and more! It takes all of us to be successful, and as you know, Peachland goes the extra mile. We hope to see you soon.
Sincerely,
Sarah Johnson
Principal
A Note from the Vice Principal
W elcome back to all of our returning Peachland families, and I want to especially welcome all our new Peachland families! I hope that you all have enjoyed a fun and restful summer vacation.
This year, I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the administrative teams at Peachland and Valencia Valley. As you may know, I have spent the last seven years teaching here at Peachland. I love the culture, families, and staff here and am so excited to be a part of the “magic” for another year. I will be here at Peachland Monday through Thursday and will be at Valencia Valley every Friday. Valencia Valley is another one of our district’s wonderful schools, and I am enjoying getting to know the families there as well.
I am a native of Santa Clarita. I grew up in this area, and even went to Old Orchard many years ago! I have taught in the Newhall School District since 1997 when I started teaching at Old Orchard, in the same classroom in which I spent sixth grade. I enjoyed my time there and learned from some amazing teachers. I took some time off when my first child, Quinn, was born and was thrilled to be given a position at Peachland in 2002 when I came back. After my second child, Ryan, was born, I went back to school to begin working towards my administrative credential. Quinn is a second grader here at Peachland, and Ryan will start Kindergarten here next year. My husband, James, and I feel passionately that we have our kids in the best school around!
We have many exciting things planned for this year and hope to see you and your families at all of our school events. Our students will be learning, growing, and going the extra mile every day. Let’s all work together to make this an amazing year for our Peachland students!Sincerely,
Kate Peattie
